AISI 616 & AISI 422 & 1.4935 Turbine Blade Steel
Introduction:
Grade 616 is a hardenable stainless steel designed for use at temperatures of up to 650 ºC. Grade 616 has good resistance to scaling and oxidation. Through heat treatment, high mechanical properties can be developed. Grade 616 is used in applications such as compressors or steam turbines and also in aircraft parts, valves, high temperature bolting, and other mechanical parts used in high temperature circumstances.
The alloy is usually produced by BEF & AOD followed by electroslag remelting (ESR) / VAR if necessary for special purpose.
Bars and, where applicable, forgings are subjected to ultrasonic examination based on the different levels according to the buyers' requirements.
100% Ultrasonic test ASTM E2375 /SAE AMS 2154 /SEP 1923 /GB/T 4162 /EN 10228-3.
Bars are usually supplied black/bright in the annealed condition.
